    Responsibilities

    • Create programs for automated inspection tasks on Zeiss Calypso Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)
    • Organize and manage CMM programs to facilitate effective reuse
    • Train and provide technical guidance to inspectors on CMM programming and general CMM operations
    • Train and provide technical guidance to inspectors on Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
    • Interpret GD&T callouts on mechanical drawings to facilitate proper inspection approach
    • Interpret CMM inspection results and troubleshoot issues with non-compliant prototype and production part features in collaboration with Design, Production, and Quality Engineering staff
    • Increase metrology capabilities by identifying process improvements and new equipment purchases

    Qualifications

    • Enrollment in a degree program in Mechanical Engineering or similar is required.
    • Expertise operating and programming Zeiss/Calypso CMMs is required.
    • Expertise in interpreting three-dimensional solid model mechanical designs and tolerances (ASME Y14.5) is required.
    • Familiarity with measurement statistics and uncertainty analysis is a plus.
    • Strong organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
    • U.S. citizenship is required.
