Working with minimal supervision this individual will construct detailed simulation models of standards-based communication systems like LTE.  They will use these models to conduct a broad range of “what if” studies, considering different architectural tradeoffs, different implementations, and time-variant propagation and interference environments.  Results and conclusions will be presented to sponsors on a regular basis, together with recommendations for future research.



The successful applicant will be pursuing a doctorate from a recognized program in communication system engineering.  They will have a working knowledge of standards like LTE, propagation theory and modeling, and emerging topics such as simultaneous transmit and receive, and radio frequency machine learning.  Must be able to work with a team of other highly-skilled individuals.  Exceptional candidates working toward a master’s degree may also be considered.
