DISTINCT Program Overview:
Introducing the Draper Information Services Training in Computer Technologies (DISTINCT) program. This is a six month training Co-op program with two possible tracks:
The Information Security, Infrastructure and Operations track will focus on the Security Operations Center (SOC), Information Security Operations (InfoSec Ops), and the Information Assurance and Risk Management (IA) departments.
The MIS track will focus on the analysis of MIS Sharepoint (branded as “Collaboratory”), and creation and execution of plan for site enhancement.
Each track will spend time in the IS Project Management Office as well as Client Services to focus on customer service skills, as well as organizational and project management skills.
The DISTINCT program will end with a presentation in front of Senior Executives.
Draper’s Information Services Department is looking for a fast, self-directed learner with an exceptional academic record. Outstanding written and oral communication skills, along with the ability to work as part of a team, are essential. Students majoring in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Management Information Systems, and any other relevant major should apply.
Students selected to work at Draper will be expected to work full-time during professional business hours. Students will be expected to work with multiple senior members and communicate effectively both orally and in written memos or presentations. The technical responsibilities will vary depending on the project assignment which is tailored to the student skills and the Information Services Department’s needs.
