Responsibilities

Draper is seeking a highly motivated co-op student to assist with development and testing of novel microelectronics packaging strategies. Students selected to work at Draper will be expected to work full-time during professional business hours.  Students will be expected to work with multiple senior technical staff members and communicate effectively both orally and in written memos or presentations. The technical responsibilities will vary depending on the project assignment which is tailored to the student skills and the Draper supervisor’s needs at the time the offer is made. 

The student will be working closely with staff to perform experiments, build and iterate designs for customized fixtures. The student will be trained on and required to operate various microelectronics packaging and analytical tools on their own, such as a wire bonder, pull tester, microscope, and high speed cameras. The student will be expected to help plan, perform, document, report, and draft a peer reviewed publication under the oversight of a mentor.

 

Qualifications

Individual must be well organized, responsible and dependable. Enrollment in a four-year physical science or engineering degree program (mechanical engineering, materials science/engineering, chemical engineering, or physics major) required. Qualified candidates will possess strong verbal communication and excellent written skills including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Previous experiment design experience & CAD skills are desirable.

US citizen or green card required.
