The Flight Software Verification and Validation team (SW V&V) at Draper Laboratory will be testing mission critical flight avionics. The student would participate in the following activities:

  • Support development of test plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Develop script software to control simulations.
  • Develop script software to collect and analyze test results.
  • Participate in Desk Check and Peer Inspection processes.
  • The student will learn about mission critical Flight Software and Flight Simulators

The Student will be working closely with the SW V&V Task leader and with a team of 5 experienced SW V&V engineers who cooperate closely. The working environment is professional and challenging, and would provide many opportunities to learn.   




Ability and desire to:

  • Work both in a highly interactive environment with lots of discussion and communication with team members as well as working on your own evolving the tools used by the team.
  • Step out of your comfort zone and learn new tools and applications.

 Desired skills and knowledge:

  • MS Office suite including graphing and charting capability.
  • C software language or Scripting language.
  • Knowledge of MATLAB and DOORS preferred but not required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering degree candidate preferred. Electrical Engineering degree candidates with strong software development and/or testing skills will be considered.
