    The Materials Engineering and Microfabrication directorate is hiring students for summer internship positions.  The directorate incorporates a number of technology areas including: Microsystems/Nanosystems Development, Product Engineering, Biomedical Microsystems, Advanced Materials Science and Engineering, and Material Processing and Fabrication. 

    Students selected to work in the directorate will be expected to work full-time during professional business hours.  Students will be expected to work with multiple senior technical staff members and communicate effectively both orally and in written memos or presentations. The technical responsibilities will vary depending on the project assignment, which is tailored to the student skills and the Draper supervisor’s needs at the time the offer is made.  Examples of technology areas in the directorate include:


    Advanced Materials Science and Engineering

    • Self-assembly of nanomaterials
    • Novel metamaterials and applications
    • Synthetic biology



    Student be enrolled in a  BS track in a relevant field such as mechanical engineering, materials science, electrical engineering, biological/biomedical engineering, physics, biology, mathematics, etc.  Student should provide evidence of high aptitude and academic performance.  Evidence of research experience is preferred.
